I just wanted to update you as to Tyler's progress. He went into surgery this morning and apparently they sedated him too much at first so it took them a while for that to wear off so he was awake enough to proceed. The surgery went very well and lasted for about 8 1/2 hours. They moved him to a room on the children's floor where he will be spending the night tonight. They will monitor his progress tomorrow and make a determination on whether or not he can go home.

      He will definitely be at home resting by Thursday. I informed Rick and Michelle about all your thoughts and blessings and they were very thankful. Tyler managed to smile a few times when reading some of the kids' get well cards. He is a fighter and a hero and we're all blessed to have him in our lives. I'm proud of him and I'm proud of all the other kids in the class and how grown up and thoughtful they've been during this process. Talk with you again soon
