Tyler’s Hope Center of Excellence · Since 2008

The first place we went to find a cure.

In 2008 we designated the University of Florida’s Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases as our first Center of Excellence. Today it is one of the country’s leading homes for comprehensive dystonia care and research.

Why University of Florida 17 years

One foundation, one institution, one mission: end dystonia.

When Tyler was diagnosed in 2007, there was no dedicated home for dystonia care. A year later, Tyler’s Hope chose the University of Florida — and the partnership has powered research, clinical breakthroughs, and a true patient-centered home ever since.

UF Health’s Norman Fixel Institute brings together more than 15 disciplines under one roof. Patients see neurologists, surgeons, therapists, and researchers in a single coordinated visit — what the Institute calls “concierge care” for dystonia.

Our shared mission

“To provide the highest level of medical and surgical care to patients with dystonia, and to perform research that leads to better treatments — and ultimately, a cure.”
